We have always known Eid al-Adha as a time to share support, hope, and laughter. As Eid gets closer, we get closer to you and to our families in the camps of northern Syria throughout Eid and Joy campaign. Through this campaign, we seize the reward and bring back hope to the hearts of our families in the camps, just as Allah restored hope to Prophet Ibrahim when He provided a great ram as a substitute sacrifice.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The most desired deed that Allah loves is qurbani, flowing of blood through the deed of sacrifice, there is no other deed more desired deed than this for Allah” [Tirmidhi 1493]. And on the Day of Judgment, this same sacrificial animal with its horns, its hairs, etc will appear before us in the same way it was sacrificed. So, Allah has promised rewards over this.
This year, we will strive to be the support and hope to alleviate their suffering by distributing sacrificial meat, which is a vital source of protein that they have been deprived of due to the challenges of displacement and refuge.
As the world’s attention turns to other issues, more than 2 million displaced Syrians in camps become forgotten, living every day under the mercy of tents and its difficulties and challenges.
Be the most beautiful part of their Eid this year. Share with them, alleviate their suffering, and restore hope and the beautiful memories of Eid.
