Summary of the report
For better respond to and provision of more useful service to society, Monitoring, Evaluation and Information Department at GAN has conducted need assessment of the food security and education sectors in several areas inside and outside Syria.
  Needs assessment report for 32 camps in the Lebanese camps of Arsal will be submitted.
GAN has chosen Arsal camps for evaluation for several reasons 
   Since early 2012, a huge number of Syrians fled from Homs to Arsal, as it is a border town with Syria, so establishment of camps was by people themselves in a random way without any help from any organization.
  Moreover, these camps have not received adequate support from international organizations while local organizations are unable to meet needs
In addition, the absence of United Nations organizations, no need assessment has even been made by any of them.
GAN has been in the region for four years and has two camps there.
The organization has chosen the food security and education sectors for the study and evaluation since these two sectors are the most affected by the crisis.
